St Vincent’s UCD Cancer Centre Achieves Comprehensive Cancer Centre Designation

The St Vincent’s UCD Cancer Centre has achieved a significant milestone, having been redesignated as a Comprehensive Cancer Centre by the Organisation of European Cancer Centres (OECI).

This prestigious designation marks an important achievement for the Cancer Centre and represents a significant step forward in its ambition to deliver excellence in cancer care, research and education. It recognises the Centre’s commitment to advancing cancer services through collaboration, innovation and a shared focus on improving outcomes for people affected by cancer.

The redesignation is an important stepping stone towards realising the Cancer Centre’s vision:

“To be a nationally and internationally recognised comprehensive cancer centre delivering world-class care, advanced research, and education.”

The St Vincent’s UCD Cancer Centre brings together the expertise and resources of four central partners: St Vincent’s University Hospital, St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network and University College Dublin. Through this collaborative partnership, the Centre aims to strengthen the links between clinical care, scientific research and education, supporting the continued development of cancer services and the translation of research advances into patient care.

Achieving Comprehensive Cancer Centre designation reflects the collective commitment of these partners and their teams to building a centre of excellence that delivers high-quality, integrated cancer care while contributing to the advancement of cancer research and education nationally and internationally.

The redesignation provides a strong foundation for the Centre’s continued development, reinforcing its commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation in the pursuit of better outcomes for patients and their families.
