European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (EUnetCCC)

The European Commission launched Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan in 2021, is aiming to reduce the cancer burden across the EU and support Member States in improving cancer control and care. Among its flagship initiatives, the Plan set an ambitious objective: to establish a European network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (EUnetCCCs), with at least one Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCC) in every Member State by 2028.

This ambition of creating a European network of CCCs stemmed from a simple vision: that every person, in every region, should have access to excellence in cancer care, research, and innovation. This political ambition marked the birth of the EUnetCCC initiative, coordinated by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa).

Through a Joint Action co-funded by the EU4Health programme, EUnetCCC brings together 163 partners across 31 countries to lay the foundation for this future EU-wide network and ensure that 90% of eligible patients have access to high-quality cancer care by 2030.  The St Vincent’s UCD Cancer Centre is one of those partners.
