SOAR runs in cycles. Each cycle sets the ground, opens the work to the wider community, trains a cohort, and then keeps supporting them.
Join the trained cohort of grant writing champions. Recruitment runs by open call; criteria include clinical role and tenure, research interest, manager endorsement and availability for a twelve-month tenure.
Attend the programme’s public day, or submit an abstract for an oral slot or poster. Early-career researchers are particularly encouraged to present.
A 60-minute slot with a champion to talk through a funding call, a draft application, a budget or a plain-English summary. No question is too early.
Offer informal access to senior research expertise for the champion cohort and the researchers they support. Light-touch and voluntary.
The CRPO runs SOAR day to day and can advise on any of the routes above, including what release time to ask your manager for.
